Rosemary Mint Sugar Scrub Cubes
These cute little individual scrubs are made with melt and pour soap base and are used to help polish away patches of dry flaky skin.
Shea butter softens your skin, while granulated sugar acts as a natural exfoliant for calloused or rough spots.

They’re infused with rosemary, which naturally promotes alertness and better circulation, and tinted a soft green with chlorella powder, or spirulina powder would work well too.
Peppermint essential oil adds a cool wintery fresh scent.

Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp dried or fresh rosemary
- 1/4 tsp water
- 6 oz (170 g) clear melt and pour soap base, cut into cubes
- 2 oz (57 g) shea or mango butter
- 2.5 oz (71 g) grapeseed, rice bran, or sunflower oil
- 1/4 tsp chlorella powder mixed with 1/2 tbsp rubbing alcohol
- 14 oz (397 g) granulated sugar (almost 2 cups)
- 2 g (abt 1/2 tsp) peppermint essential oil
YIELD: 15 to 18 cubes

How to Make:
- In a heatproof jar or container, combine the rosemary, water, and clear soap base. Cover it loosely with a canning lid or small heatproof saucer.
- Place the jar in a saucepan containing a few inches of water, forming a makeshift double boiler. Heat over medium-low heat until the soap is almost melted, 15 to 25 minutes, then lower the heat to low and infuse for an additional 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Place the shea butter in a separate heatproof 4-cup glass measuring container. Temporarily remove the melted infused soap from the heat and strain it through a fine mesh sieve, directly into the container containing shea butter.
- Press as much soap from the spent herbs as possible, using the back of a fork or spoon against the sieve. Cover the container loosely with a heatproof saucer and place it in the pan of water, heating over low heat just until the shea butter is melted.
- Stir in the grapeseed oil. Turn off the heat but keep the container in the hot water to stay warm. Stir in the diluted chlorella powder, then mix in half of the granulated sugar. Stir in the peppermint essential oil, then the remaining amount of sugar. Mix thoroughly.
- Working quickly, spoon the soap into individual cube molds or ice trays. If the soap hardens up before you can use it all, return to the pan of hot water, or heat it in the microwave for 5 to 10 seconds at a time, just until it’s easy to stir again. Don’t overheat or the sugar might melt.
- Let the scrub bars cool for several hours, then remove from the mold, and store in airtight packaging or containers.
