Chamomile Bath Salts

How to make DIY Chamomile Bath Salts

Chamomile is a lovely herbal flower, famous for calming upset tummies and gently inducing a sleepy state at bedtime.

Something lesser known about it, is that it’s also a great ingredient choice to include in soothing skincare products.

Today, we’re going to talk about how to include chamomile flowers in these super easy to make bath salts.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Epsom salt
  • about 1/4 cup fresh chamomile flowers *
  • optional: a few yellow flower petals for added natural color (I used pansies)

*If you don’t have fresh chamomile flowers, you can use dried flowers instead. The bath salts will have a much different texture and look to them, but the benefits will be the same.

Step 1

Place the Epsom salt and fresh flowers in a mini food processor (THIS is the kind I have).

Step 2

Blend until the color is evenly distributed.

Step 3

Spread the colored out in a layer over wax paper and allow to dry for 1 to 2 days.

Step 4

Crumble up the dried salt and put it in a tightly sealed jar for storage.

And that’s it!

When ready to use, dump the bath salts into a cotton muslin bag (like THESE) or tie them up in a clean sock.

Drop the bag/sock into warm running water and enjoy a relaxing bath!
